Runner at Second Slap Defense
With a runner on second, this video shows our Slap Coverage system in action.
Both corners and the pitcher charge when the bunt or slap is shown, while the shortstop plays tight in the 5/6 hole to defend the slap.
The second baseman reads push bunts and rotates to cover first, and the shortstop covers third on all hits, steals, and delayed advances.
If second base is left uncovered, either the non-fielding corner or the center fielder will rotate to the bag.
This defense is designed to control the short game, protect every base, and keep pressure on the offense.
