Tandem Relays

Three clips demonstrating tandem relays—an option on sure doubles/triples to add a built-in backup (not to make two throws to the target base).

• Clip 1: Runners on 2nd & 3rd; drive to right-center fence. 2B is primary, SS trails. 1B trails the batter-runner to 2nd; pitcher backs up potential throws to 3rd.

• Clip 2: Double over LF’s head; ball caroms toward the left-field line. 2B shifts into the trailer role; pitcher backs up 3rd. The trailer ultimately fields the return.

• Clip 3: Ball down the right-field corner. 2B leads; SS trails.
